BlueHost offers an online demonstration site on its website so prospective clients can see what they are going to get for their hosting dollars. A mid-range webhosting company, BlueHost offers reliable, dependable service for the business owner and individual website owner alike. Owned and operated by the same company that has HostMonster, there are similarities between the two webhosts. BlueHost offers a few more amenities and so, costs a little bit more, but arranges a shorter contract. With BlueHost, choices are few. There is just one plan. The cost is $6.95 per month for a two-year contract and $7.95 per month for a one-year contract. When you consider that BlueHost offers unlimited add-on domains and very high resources, this is an outstanding deal. In operation since 1996, BlueHost prides itself on superior customer service. Included in its package are quad processor performance servers, power backups in the form of UPS and diesel generators, a Linux operating system, around the clock network monitoring, and regular site backups. Unlimited gigs of site transfer and forwarded email accounts add to the look of this package. If your site is highly CPU-intensive, be aware that you may be shut down without notice (although the terms of agreement mention this). BlueHost is fairly clear about sites that interfere or hinder other accounts and offers clear guidelines to prevent clients from being shut down. BlueHost offers help with your domain setup, a site promotion package, a free blog, forum and message board, a free eCommerce cart and $25.00 in free Yahoo credits with $50.00 Google credits. This is a package that is hard to beat. Client feedback describes BlueHost as "impeccable" and "impressive and very reliable." Very few discontented clients are in evidence. Most of the available client reviews are written by those who have been with BlueHost for more than a year. Clients also write positive comments about the live tech support that BlueHost offers. People regularly write that there is little wait for assistance and that workable solutions are given. An interesting feature of BlueHost is their live forum and chat, which newcomers will find especially helpful. In the past several months, they have made changes in what they offer which match the best in the industry at a price that is still competitive. There have been a few negative comments about uptime, but it is recognized that this was temporary while the company upgraded. In addition, those who comment negatively are usually clients who do not always abide by company policies. Uptime is no longer an issue in client reviews. A check of the twenty-four hour monitoring service reveals that uptime is above 99.8%.
